The Darch-Angel and the Wraith form a pair of colour concept sketches for a piece of furniture. The two pieces were done simultaneously, to create a stylistic match between them. The loose style in question was very different from the tight, clean style I was used to using for colour pieces, nevermind black and white, but this pair started me developing a style I have been using increasingly since. The wraith is alliterally very similar in pose to its opposite number, consisting the same sort of mysterious robed and faceless figure, wielding an exagerated war-scythe, in much the same way as its mediaeval equivalents an appropriate parallel as the item in quesion was a large Gothic baldichino to cover a small throne.
